There are many reasons to enter a luxury residential drug rehabilitation center and there are many causes of drug addiction, but in all cases, it begins with the initial use. Obviously, the causes of drug addiction can be linked to many things, but without the initial use of a drug, there would be no addiction. In the case of prescription medications acting as the causes of drug addiction, a person may not be entirely to blame. However, the leading cause of prescription drug addiction is improper use of the medication.

Improper use of the medication and drugs, both over the counter and illegal, can often lead to drug addiction issues. Drug rehab programs such as suboxone treatment for heroin addiction might be required in these situations.

Sleep aids and anti-depressants are the leading addiction in prescription medications. These drugs carry warnings that they may be addictive. If a person attempts to self-dose without consulting a physician or a counselor at a drug rehab center, addiction can occur very quickly. Taking more than a prescribed dose of a prescription drug or taking the drug more frequently are both causes of drug addiction of the pharmaceutical kind.

An entirely different epidemic stems from the causes of drug addiction to illegal drugs. Heroine, cocaine, and methamphetamine are all highly addictive, illegal drugs. The effects of these drugs on the body are catastrophic after long-term use. A small percentage of methamphetamine users are able to quit taking the drug without intervention, while the majority of users will be life-long addicts or require extensive drug rehab to stop using.

Is Drug Addiction Easier to Treat than Alcoholism?
While many people still try and define addicts as different then alcoholics, the fact of the matter is that the definition of addiction or alcoholism is almost identical. The main difference is that one is liquid in nature, while the other can take on a variety of forms. The overall effects of addiction or alcoholism are exactly the same.
Drug Addiction Treatment versus Alcohol Treatment.
Since the medical profession has come to see drug addiction and alcoholism as primarily the same disease, there is little difference in addiction or alcohol treatment. While it is true that different medications may be used in a alcohol treatment center or drug rehab, addiction treatment center or alcohol treatment program while the patient is in detox, trying to get sober, addiction treatment philosophy or alcohol treatment philosophy are primarily the same.

The most successful drug addiction treatment is that which helps patients get better from the inside out. Remember, drug abuse is a personal disease. Drug treatment can only work if drug treatment patients make it work. No drug rehab center in the world can help an addict who refuses to help herself. What that means, in a practical sense, is that drug rehab programs have to engage drug rehabilitation patients. The drug rehab facility that’s right for you is the one that empowers you in the drug addiction treatment process. If you’re going to get better, it’s going to be because you make it happen. And your drug treatment program has to give you the tools to get where you need to go.

Some drug rehabs in California treat addiction recovery as if it were a generic undertaking. It’s not. Substance abuse treatment is never the same for any two substance abuse treatment patients. Again, rehab is and must be a profoundly personal process. Drug addiction treatment can only go forward on personal terms. Any rehabilitation center that doesn’t recognize that much simply isn’t worth your time.

Most people with alcoholism, alcohol addiction or those who suffer from alcohol abuse enter alcohol rehabilitation reluctantly due to their denial relating to the severity of their alcohol problem. Family issues, health problems or legal difficulties may prompt admission to an alcohol rehabilitation center, but for those reluctant to enter an alcohol rehab program, an intervention may be the answer. An intervention is a process which helps some people recognize and accept the need for alcohol rehab. An intervention should only be coordinated and initiated by a licensed intervention specialist. If for some reason you can not locate an interventionist in your area, contact a luxury alcohol rehab program near you and they will be happy to assist.

While there are several modalities of alcohol treatment to choose from, those suffering from alcoholism, alcohol dependence or alcohol addiction are best suited for an high-end residential alcohol rehabilitation program. Due to the alcohol withdrawal symptoms associated with recovery from alcoholism and the complexities relating to treating alcohol addiction people generally require all the services an inpatient alcohol rehab program has to offer.
