Choosing the correct drug abuse treatment approach is often a very confusing, difficult and an important endeavor. It is important to be well informed in order to choose the luxury residential drug abuse treatment center for you. Especially in Malibu, CA, each substance abuse treatment facility is unique in it’s approach to recovery. Take note of what is important to you, and make decisions based on your personal necessities. Keep in mind that there are a multitude of treatment approaches to choose from: outpatient, inpatient, 12-step, group therapy, and the list goes on.

An individual can become thoroughly confused by asking a half-dozen recovering alcoholics or drug addicts how they ended their use of alcohol or drugs; the answers vary although each of them may seem convincing and emotional. They will cite such diverse approaches as hospitalization, diet, exercise, counseling, sauna’s, religion, hypnosis, amino acids and self-help groups. When it comes to successful treatment, only one thing is certain: practically any approach will work for some of the people, some of the time. To put it another way, successful treatment is like a designer suit- it’s got to be tailor-made for each individual.

A successful drug intervention is one that convinces an addict to enter rehab. Period. There is no other point to the process, no other goal that could justify the decision to conduct an intervention in the first place. Substance abuse is a devastating disease. Proper addiction treatment can fix the problem, but only if patients have the courage to seek care. That courage, in turn, can only be born of a thorough understanding of the full extent of one’s own problems…which is why drug interventions are so important to the healing process.

Addicts generally aren’t capable of seeing the truth about themselves without help. A drug intervention can change that. The only catch is that it has to be conducted in a spirit of warmth and support. The best drug intervention is the one that makes an addict feel loved, and shows him just how much he has to lose if he fails to overcome his drug problem. That, in the end, is the only way for healing to happen.

The most successful drug addiction treatment is that which helps patients get better from the inside out. Remember, drug abuse is a personal disease. Drug treatment can only work if drug treatment patients make it work. No drug rehab center in the world can help an addict who refuses to help herself. What that means, in a practical sense, is that drug rehab programs have to engage drug rehabilitation patients. The drug rehab facility that’s right for you is the one that empowers you in the drug addiction treatment process. If you’re going to get better, it’s going to be because you make it happen. And your drug treatment program has to give you the tools to get where you need to go.

Some drug rehabs in California treat addiction recovery as if it were a generic undertaking. It’s not. Substance abuse treatment is never the same for any two substance abuse treatment patients. Again, rehab is and must be a profoundly personal process. Drug addiction treatment can only go forward on personal terms. Any rehabilitation center that doesn’t recognize that much simply isn’t worth your time.

My name is Barbara and I’m a 26 year old drug abuser. I’ve had a lot of success at a drug abuse treatment center. First of all, being sober is one of the best successes I’ve ever
had. Because of great, loving drug abuse treatment I’ve been sober for 62 days so far and it’s been great. I’ve learned how to confront my drug abuse and now I’ll be able to confront any situation I might walk into and be able handle it in the right way. The people at my rehab are fantastic. Afterwards, I felt like a whole new person. I felt more active, more awake, and more ambitious. I never thought I could conquer my substance abuse, bit I did and I am a happy recovering addict. Treatment taught me how to live again. I can’t wait until I have a chance to give back to others just as they have helped me. I want to thank all of the staff and students here for helping me get my life back. If you ever need any help, for any drug or alcohol abuse, I hope one day someone like me can help someone like you.

Drug treatment get a bad rep sometimes, and personally, I am sick of it. You know, people have a habit of talking about shit that they don’t like and most of the time, they are talking about crap they don’t even know about. Unfortunately, that is life and it is something that we all have to deal with. Hey, I didn’t make the rules and neither did you, so don’t blame me and don’t blame yourself for how fu*&ed up they are. It is what it is. That’s why I say not to worry about what people say because I know that drug treatment centers help people. Shit, they helped me and I was the guy who was voted “Most Likely to Forever Get High”. Not really, but you get my drift. I’m basically saying that if drug treatment centers could help me, then, they could help anyone in need of a little sobriety. Hell, that’s what the heck they are there for, anyway. If you know that you have a problem with drug addictions or drug abuse, then you need to go and do what you need to do. That’s also what substance abuse treatment centers do. They wait for you to be ready to make a change and then they help you get there. Make the call.

There aren’t many things in this world that I could say have changed my life. The one thing that I could always say impacted my life greatly, however, was substance abuse treatment. Not too many years ago the train wreck I called my life was headed directly for the crapper. I had such a problem with substance abuse that I thought everyone else was fucked up. I was never just drunk or stoned. I was usually both drunk and stoned and working on accentuating my buzz with anything else I could get my hands on. It was terrible. The worse part of it all was that I never thought that substance abuse treatment would ever be able to help me. Boy, was I wrong.

My first week at the drug treatment center was hellish. It was hard acclimating to their schedule and their rules. It sucked. I guess being a total skeptic about addiction recovery wasn’t making my time there any better. I came around though and things got better for me. I kicked the habit and I’ve been sober for 3yrs. Like I said: substance abuse treatment saved my life.
